Banking
Conducted Open VMS training session to create a strong technical team of Datamatics,
Mumbai to support and migrate legacy based Banking Application. End Client was Sungard, US.
Provided good technical hands on VAX based tools like, DCL, Lexical Function and RTL routines to
the participants.
Insuarance
Maintained COBOL based legacy insurance application of Qatar Insurance Corporation – QIC. Application was running in VAX/VMS platform and migrated this application into oracle Developer/2000 env and used SQL*Loader & Pro*Cobol data migration. Developed front end screen using oracle forms 4.5 and report writer V2.5 used for report generation.
Retail
Managed and maintained Retail Application which was running in VAX/VMS env and handled 50+ real time users of Mannai Corporation, Doha, Qatar. Total inventory value was 800 million Qatari Riyals and total line item was 2,00,000. Used TDMS, RTL routines, DCL, CDD, Datatrieve, DMU, VMS batch processing utilities of VAX to sail the day to day activities smoothly.Migrated the legacy based retail application into oracle platform V6.n using : PL/SQL for functions and procedures, SQL*Loader and Pro*COBOL for data migration, Forms V3.0 for end user interface, Report writer V1.1 for report generation, SQL*MENU for Menu Access
Warehouse Management
Actively involved in adding enhancements to the existing legacy based warehouse application of Toys R Us, US in Open VMS env as part of development based support project. Programming used was Pro*Cobol (.SCO) and flat RMS files and Oracle RDB V7.2 were referred as backend. Tenure of this project was 3 years.
MRP Product
Associated with this MAN MAN a Material Resource Planning product of ITC, Chennai in open VMS platform. Adding value by monitoring this - production and Planning module on 24/7 basis and incorporated new functionalities as per the business demand. Programming Language used was VAX FORTRAN and backed was VAX DBMS/RDB.
Automobile
Provided offshore support coverage of LOCUS application of Livingston, US and added enhancements to LOCUS module as per the user demand. Work env was open VMS, COBOL, Pro*Cobol, DECforms and Oracle RDB V7.4 & RMS files.
Workshop Management
Maintained this application right from job order creation to till the closure of job cards plus providing 360 degree view of customer vehicles workshop transactions. This application had interactions with inventory module for material issue/return activities and this application was running in open VMS env and later migrated to oracle based Developer/2000 platform.
Telecom
Developed a good team of technical resources to provide 24/7 support on CIS – Customer Information System module of Cable & Wireless International, UK and project work env was open VMS, COBOL, CDD, ACMS – a middleware and Oracle RDB as backend along RMS files. This was an onshore / offshore production support project.
Healthcare
Established a legacy team in offshore (Bengaluru) to support onsite team of XEROX (Indianapolis, US; formerly known as ACS) healthcare module MCAS – Managed Care Application System application. Added new functionalities and provided strong support to the onsite development system in enhancing the application to meet the growing business demand. Work env was open VMS, CMS, LSE, RTL routines, COBOL, FMS and DECforms.
Education
• Actively supported XEROX development team of California long beach in GLS – Guaranteed Loan System application development life cycle. Project env was open VMS, FMS, Pro*Cobol and Oracle RDB and did extensive testing of this application by following below mechanism. o Sanity checking o Unit Testing o System Testing o Integration Testing o UAT – user acceptance testing o Parallel run o Go Live
